Connecting the World Through Organic Certification: Shiying Certification Makes Its Debut at the 2026 IFOAM Conference on the Development of the Organic Industry and Organic Product Market
November 3, 2026

The 2026 International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM) Conference on Organic Industry and Organic Product Market Development was held on October 29–30, 2026, at Yongyang International Hotel in Yongnian District, Handan, Hebei. It was hosted by the Hebei Representative Office of the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements Asia (Korea) and the Hebei Organic Industry Development Association, and organized by Qimei Industrial Group Co., Ltd.Under the theme “Connecting Global Organic Agriculture Through the Cloud, Building a Shared Future for the Industry,” the conference brought together more than 200 experts, entrepreneurs, and international guests from the organic sector in 23 countries in Yongnian. They exchanged views on topics including policy support, public procurement, best practices, and AI-enabled cross-border trade, and showcased a range of policies and industry practices that have already delivered significant results.Shiying Certification President Jiang Xiaoni attended the conference with her team, meeting face-to-face with international peers to witness and take part in this high-level dialogue on “adapting international experience to local conditions.”

As a professional organization with deep expertise in organic certification, Shiying Certification has always focused on two key questions: how certification can better empower the industry, and how Chinese experience and international standards can be aligned in both directions.Attending this event was both an opportunity for Shiying Certification to learn and exchange insights while tracking global organic industry policies and market trends, and a practical step toward connecting with international certification and assurance system resources to support Chinese companies in expanding overseas with organic products.

Conference Opens: Global Cooperation and a Digital Hub for Going Global Launch Simultaneously

During the conference, the Yongnian Organic Global Digital Trade Platform officially went online. Its first 100 companies successfully joined, while several international industry and cross-border trade cooperation agreements were signed.Powered by AI, the platform brings together resources from global organic markets and enables precise matching of supply and demand. It aims to break down barriers to the cross-border circulation of organic products and serve as a central hub for the digital and global expansion of China's organic industry. As a national benchmark for organic industry development, Yongnian has built large-scale, standardized cultivation and breeding bases with the support of leading enterprises. It has obtained organic system certifications from multiple countries, and its products are sold in many countries and regions around the world.Qimei Industrial Group Co., Ltd. exports products to 37 countries and regions, and its organic asparagus and organic eggs have been served at the Beijing Olympics and the Beijing Winter Olympics.Zhao Yuqi, president of the Hebei Organic Industry Development Association, said that as of the end of last month, 582 enterprises in Hebei Province had obtained organic certification, with 99,660 hectares of organic land, nearly 1.5 million mu.        For certification bodies, this information sends a clear signal: taking the organic industry global requires both a digital trade platform to reduce the costs of matching buyers and sellers and traceability, and certification services to provide technical support for standards alignment, market access, and public procurement.

Policy Dialogue: How Public Procurement Can Effectively Align with Certification Systems
After the opening ceremony and keynote speeches, the conference’s first session focused on “Policies to Mainstream Organic Agriculture.”The Organic Agriculture Committee of the Americas shared government policy experience, and discussions focused on “Government Policy Tools for Bilateral Organic Trade”;IFOAM World Board member Paul Holmbeck shared how policy and public procurement can create market breakthroughs;IFOAM Organics Europe outlined Europe’s path from farm support to food system transformation.

In this session, Shi Ying Certification President Jiang Xiaoni and IFOAM World Board member Paul Holmbeck held a dialogue on “How to Drive Breakthroughs in the Organic Market in Asia” and engaged in an in-depth discussion on “When Public Procurement Creates Market Breakthroughs, How Should Procurement Standards Align with Certification Systems?”The central point of the two sides’ exchange was that public procurement is an important demand-side lever for the organic market, but putting procurement standards into practice depends on the support of a credible, transparent, and traceable certification system;Certification bodies need to engage earlier in the design of policies and procurement standards, so that certification requirements align with market demand and industry realities. The afternoon field visit gave participating representatives a more direct understanding of the realities of organic production in China, while also offering a vivid reference for how certification services can better meet the needs of producers.

Best Practices: Certification and Assurance Systems Serving the Real Economy
On October 30, the conference moved into the “Best Practices” and “China–South America Cooperation” sessions. From opportunities for Serbia to cooperate with China and Ecuador’s “Kallari model” in the Amazon, to New Zealand’s experience with Participatory Guarantee Systems (PGS), and innovative approaches in Brazil to public procurement, family farming, and assurance systems for organic production, these cases offer certification bodies vivid examples of how certification and assurance systems can serve the real economy. In the afternoon’s special China–South America cooperation session, alongside Argentina’s 2030 Plan and experiences from Honduras and Brazil, the closing roundtable, “AI Empowering China–South America Cooperation in Organic Trade,” drew particular attention: when “organic” meets “AI,” new solutions may emerge to reduce traceability costs and improve matchmaking efficiency in cross-border trade.         This echoes Shiying Certification’s digitalization efforts.Shiying Certification’s independently developed e-SRS digital services platform has moved the entire certification process online, from application and auditing to certificate management—using digital tools to make organic certification simpler, more trustworthy, and more efficient.Events during the conference, including the launch of the Yongnian Organic Global Digital Trade Platform and a roundtable on AI-enabled cross-border trade, further underscored the trend toward digitalization and intelligent development in the organic sector. The digital capabilities of certification bodies are becoming key infrastructure connecting producers, trade, and international markets.

International Collaboration: Turning Conference Insights into More Professional Services for Overseas Expansion
The conference agenda points to three clear trends in the global organic industry: public procurement is becoming an important policy tool for breaking through in the organic market; digitalization and AI are reducing the costs of traceability and matchmaking in cross-border trade; and innovative practices such as international recognition and participatory guarantee systems are evolving rapidly. For Chinese organic businesses, overseas expansion is no longer just about “selling products abroad”; it also involves systematically aligning standards, certification, traceability, branding, and channels.         This conference is precisely where two issues converge—the policy and practical cases from multiple countries serve as a “point of reference” for upgrading certification service systems;Face-to-face discussions with representatives of IFOAM Asia, CIAO, OFDC, and various countries offer a direct opportunity to expand international collaboration networks. The conference also presents internationally recognized awards and sees the signing of memoranda of cooperation, bringing numerous achievements in the global organic sector to fruition.During the conference, the Shiying Certification team exchanged views with various stakeholders on topics including alignment with international standards, innovation in certification services, and digital platform development, building international collaboration resources to support Chinese companies in taking their organic products overseas in the future.

We look forward to turning the insights gained at the conference into more professional certification services, accompanying more Chinese companies as they pursue international expansion in the organic sector. The organic industry has never stood alone. It connects the land to the dining table, farmers’ incomes to children’s lunches, and also to the green transformation of a country’s agriculture. With certification as the link, digitalization as the tool, and international cooperation as the bridge, Shiying Certification will continue to deepen its organic certification services and help China’s organic sector advance with greater confidence and go further in its global development.
